The Rockhampton Rugby League Association A Grade contest heads into a mid-season break with a new league leader.
The Rockhampton Brothers have shot to the top of the table after defeating the Norths Chargers on the weekend.
Roarke Christensen led the way with a hattrick for Rockhampton as they ran away with a 38-26 victory.
The home crowd for the Fish spurred them on to a monster win which has pushed them to the top of the leaderboard.
The Yeppoon Seagulls and the Emu Park Emus both head into the mid-season break with a point each after they had a 20-20 draw.
Mitchell Wyatte scored a brace for the Seagulls but it wasn’t enough as the local beach rivals had to share the spoils.
Those results have of course seen the Brothers lead the way on 10 points with the Norths Chargers following just behind them in second place on eight.
In third and fourth place are the Yeppoon Seagulls and Emu Park Emus respectively, both on six points.
And down the bottom of the table are the Fitzroy-Gracemere Sharks who currently sit four competition points behind the Seagulls and Emus.
The Intersport Yeppoon Open Women’s Premiership will also take a mid-season siesta with representative football around the corner.
Two Rockhampton-region teams picked up wins this weekend with the Fitzroys and the Brothers both earning victories.
The Rocky Brothers put on an unstoppable performance, winning 84-0 over the Norths Chargers.
Tahnee-lea Holt was the top try scorer for the match with three tries of the team’s 15.
The Fitzroys were successful over the Tannum Sands Seagulls with a 22-10 win.
And finally the Gladstone Wallabys continued their impressive streak, defeating Yeppoon 30-8.
That leaves the table with Gladstone in first place, Rocky in second, Emu Park in third, Fitzroys in fourth, Yeppoon sitting in fifth, Tannum placed sixth and Norths in the last placed position.
The competition will take a weekend off with the Reef v Beef match taking place this weekend (see the match preview above).
