The Telegraph have reported that David Raya is near the top of the list to replace Hugo Lloris this summer, with the Tottenham captain expected to be on the way out.
There have been some mixed reports on the future of Lloris over the past month, with the Frenchman entering the final year of his Lilywhite contract.
The Mirror claim that Hugo Lloris has played his final game for Spurs, The Times have revealed a £300,000 per week offer from Saudi Arabia, and The Athletic say Tottenham want Lloris to stay for his final year to provide competition to any new signing.
Although Lloris will miss the game against Brentford this weekend through injury, David Raya could find himself amidst an audition for his potential next job.
It provides an interesting scenario for the Brentford shot-stopper, as a fine performance could both impress Spurs and simultaneously cost them European football for next season.
The report claims that Thomas Frank values Raya at around £40m and Brentford have already looked at triggering the £11.3m release clause of Freiburg’s Mark Flekken as a potential replacement.
Spurs Web Opinion:
This seems to be the deal that is most likely to happen this summer. Hugo Lloris will be allowed to leave for a low fee, while Raya could probably be signed for £30m-£35m. Fraser Forster would then remain the number two for one more season.
