Walyalup’s final four home games of the home and away season have been locked in, with the AFL confirming the fixture for rounds 16 to 23.
They will play on Saturday night against Sydney in round 19 and on Sunday afternoon against Carlton (round 17), Brisbane (round 21) and Port Adelaide (round 23).
A Saturday night RAC Derby in round 22 headlines the remaining away games, with three games in Victoria on Saturday afternoon against the Western Bulldogs (round 16), Collingwood (round 18) and Geelong (round 20).
The AFL has again gone with a floating fixture for the final round of the season, with a clash against Hawthorn at the MCG to be played between Friday 25 August and Sunday 27 August.
Walyalup CEO Simon Garlick said the Club was pleased with the Club’s home 2023 fixture, which features one Friday night and five Saturday night games including the upcoming games against Richmond in round 13, Essendon in round 15 and Sydney in Round 19. The Club will also feature in 17 Saturday games in 2023 overall.
“We have some big home games coming up, and we know that if we focus on our football and perform, our members and fans will continue to show up in big numbers regardless of when we are playing,” Garlick said.
“We have set a Club record membership in 2023 and we are averaging more than 45,000 at home games at so far this year. It sets the stage for a great atmosphere at Optus Stadium as we look ahead to taking on Geelong, Richmond, Essendon, Carlton, Sydney, Brisbane and Port Adelaide in front of the Purple Army.”
The remaining fixture includes three games at the MCG against Narrm, Collingwood and Hawthorn, as well as a run of four games at Optus Stadium in the space of five weeks between rounds 19 and 23.
