The Daughters of the West women’s health and wellbeing program is returning to the west of Melbourne and Victoria in 2023, with registrations for the free program now open.
Delivered by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation in conjunction with a range of local delivery partners, Daughters of the West provides women of all of ages with the opportunity to learn more about their health, get active in a supportive environment and meet new people from their local area.
The initiative will begin in early July and will run for 10 weeks. Each session is approximately two hours, where participants hear from various experts each week on a range of health topics, including nutrition, social inclusion, and mental fitness.
Following the education component of the program, participants engage in various activities designed to build connection with one another. This is then followed by exercise sessions at a level tailored to each participants’ ability, ensuring everyone has the chance to get moving.
General Manager of Community and Government Relations, Kashif Bouns, encourages women from across the West to get involved in the program and spoke on the success of the initiative in helping thousands of women live a healthier and more active lifestyle.
“We’ve been able to help thousands of women over the years on their health and wellbeing journeys through Daughters of the West and we look forward to taking more women on that journey in 2023,” said Bouns.
“The program is such an inclusive and supportive space, and we welcome women of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to register.
“Whether you’re looking for new ways to proactively improve your health, some tips on how to get active or simply more connection to your community, this program is for you.”
The program will be delivered across 15 different sites in the West of Melbourne, Ballarat and Horsham. You can register for the program here.
