RED BANK, NJ — Ballots in the May 9 municipal election for Borough Council are now certified and the Red Bank’s Ready team’s win is official, according to information from the Borough Clerk.
Borough Clerk Laura Reinsertsen released the final vote totals Thursday.

Of 7,105 registered voters, 2,147 ballots were cast in the borough’s nine districts. There were 845 other ballots received and 51 provisional ballots.

In the mayor’s race, Mayor Billy Portman of the Red Bank’s Ready team defeated Tim Hogan, president of Riverview Medical Center, of the Red Bank Together team.
Red Bank’s Ready also outperformed the Red Bank Together council candidates, including incumbents Michael Ballard, John Jackson and Jacqueline Sturdivant.
Incumbent Councilmember Kate Triggiano was the high vote-getter among council candidates on the Red Bank’s Ready team.
The new Borough Council will be seated to four-year terms at a reorganization meeting July 1, although there will be a process to choose four members to serve only two years to stagger future terms.
