Gladstone Region ratepayers who have recently become eligible for the pension are being encouraged to apply for Gladstone Regional Council’s 2023/24 Pensioner Concession.
The Council currently provides a maximum concession of $310 for eligible pensioners.
Gladstone Region Councillor, Natalia Muszkat said the Queensland Government also provides Pensioner Concession recipients with a maximum subsidy of $200 per annum and a 20 per cent rebate on the State Emergency Management Levy.
“Council’s Pensioner Concession and the Queensland Government Pensioner Rate Subsidy Scheme greatly assist pensioners,” Councillor Muszkat said.
“Council recognises the unique needs of pensioners who want to continue to be independent and live in their own home and the concession is provided to encourage pensioners to do this where possible.”
