Bundaberg musician Pete O’Brien is officially releasing his most popular song ‘I Love You’ to Australian radio this month.
The local artist had the number one charting country song in Tasmania last year and was also named a finalist for next year’s Indie Country Music Australia (ICMA) Awards in Tamworth.
‘I Love You’ is from his first album ‘Strange Daze’ and is the most requested song at his live shows and on social media.
“The song ‘I Love You’ was written over a few weeks,” Pete said.
“I wanted to write a real true heart-pulling love song.
“It’s full of expressions of love towards your soul mate.
“The lyrics are straight from the heart.”
After writing the song, Pete recorded the vocals in Bundaberg before sending them to Panda Studios on Nashville where session musicians recorded the music.
He said that the accompanying music video was currently in the hands of American record label 9 Lives Records and had been sent to Sony for approval.
“My following in the USA is steadily growing through my social media live shows,” Pete said.
“It’s a great feeling mailing out CD packs to the USA, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand in the last few months.”
In the meantime ‘I Love You’ is being distributed to record stations around the country with CRS Publicity.
“I have had a number of songs playing on radio in Australia and overseas, with some even charting,” Pete said.
“With the release of ‘I Love You’ on radio I can’t wait to hear the song I wrote at home being played to thousands of people.”
