The Fan Carpet are excited to share with you casting news and new art for the Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation musical fairytale, “Spellbound,” starring Rachel Zegler, Academy Award-nominee John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Nathan Lane, with Academy Award-winners Javier Bardem and Nicole Kidman, premiering globally on Apple TV+ in 2024.
Apple TV+ award winning talent Titus Burgess (“Schmigadoon”) is extending his relationship with Apple and is joining the cast of “Spellbound.”

“Spellbound” is a musical fairytale and tells a universal story that centers on a terrible spell that has turned a king and queen into monsters, leaving their daughter, Princess Ellian (voiced by Rachel Ziegler), to manage the kingdom on her own.
Directed by Vicky Jenson who won the first ever Animated Feature Academy Award for “Shrek.”
The all-star voice cast is led by Rachel Zegler (who recently starred in “West Side Story”), Academy Award-nominee John Lithgow, Jennifer Lewis, and Nathan Lane with Academy Award-winner Nicole Kidman and Academy Award-winner Javier Bardem also voicing roles. Additionally, Apple TV+ award winning talent Titus Burgess is extending his relationship with Apple (he has previously starred in the hit series of “Schmigadoon”) who will join the cast of “Spellbound” ahead of presentation at Annecy.
In addition to the outstanding voice cast (who each do their own singing) the film features an original score and original songs from 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas”), with lyrics by Oscar nominee Glenn Slater (“Tangled”).
“Spellbound” is written by Lauren Hynek & Elizabeth Martin (“Mulan”) and Linda Woolverton (“Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King”) and the film is produced by John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bruce Anderson for Skydance Animation.
“Spellbound” Director Vicky Jenson and Head of Story Brian Pimental will present a “Work in Progress” panel on Tuesday, June 13 at the Annecy Film Festival.
