Supervet Roger Harrison-Jones was the club’s only representative in Sunday (June 11)’s Colshaw Hall 10k in Cheshire, where he has shown good form in past years.
This time, though now 86, he finished second in the M80 class in 71.26.
Meanwhile, competing in the Ellesmere Triathlon, Oliver Birch-Jones, 17, finished fourth overall and won his age group with an aggregate time of 1-26.10.
He covered the 750-metre swim in 12.51 then the 48k bike ride in 24.76 and finished strongly in 21.47 in the 5km run.
Oliver has been amazingly consistent in parkruns in the past year and, on Saturday, completed his 50th on the Nova course in Prestatyn in 21.01.
Elsewhere, a week after clocking 57.26 in the Abersoch 10k, Andy Scott returned to firmer ground with a time of 54.28 in Saturday’s Tatton Hall 10k.
A total of 14 club members also travelled to Anglesey for the Newborough Parkrun, the latest part of the “Feel, Find, Mind” campaign in support of breast cancer research.

Martin Cortvriend continued his steady comeback from surgery by coming 80th in the Pont y Bala Parkrun in 46.48, while another supervet, Steve Hatfield, who has been out of action for 10 months, also returned with an outing in the Nova run.

Sisters Olivia and Ffion Standring-Jones joined 35 starters in the Prestatyn junior parkrun, finishing sixth and 27th respectively in 10.06 and 15.06.
