Spurs no sure thing
Tottenham have been in poor form recently, with just two victories in their previous nine matches in all competitions, and so they are taken on when they play host to Brentford, who have won three of their past four matches.
The Bees have transformed into one of the hardest teams to beat in the Premier League. Only the top three – Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle – have lost fewer games than Thomas Frank’s men this season.
The visitors have become a more direct side as they adapt to the top flight and their preference for exploiting set pieces has been extremely successful this campaign.
Brentford have beaten Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in 2022-23 and could well get the better of Spurs in this one. The north Londoners have the worst defensive record of the clubs in the top half of the table, conceding 59 in 36 games.
Tottenham vs Brentford tip 1: Brentford draw no bet @ 3/1 with Betfred
Wissa can make his presence felt again
Yoane Wissa replaced the suspended Ivan Toney last week against West Ham, and looks likely to do the same again here.
The DR Congo international had five shots, three on target, and netted against the Hammers. He has a good return from his limited opportunities with the Bees this season.
Wissa has scored six goals in 14 starts – and with the French-born 26-year-old set to shoulder the goalscoring responsibility, he can get another.
Tottenham vs Brentford tip 2: Yoane Wissa to score any time @ 3/1 with Betfred
Romero likely to be carded
Only two players in the Premier League have been booked more this season than Cristian Romero, with 11, and he could well fall foul of the referee again.
The Argentina centre back has picked up that tally from just 26 starts so his style of play clearly attracts referees’ attention.
Both teams have scored in four of Tottenham’s previous five home matches and the same looks likely at lunchtime on Saturday, given the attacking talents of both sides.
Harry Kane is likely to lead the charge for Spurs as he looks to add to his tally of 27 goals this season.
The England captain averages 3.27 shots per 90 minutes and is fancied for at least three attempts on goal in this one.
Tottenham vs Brentford tip 3: Both teams to score, Cristian Romero to be shown a card and Harry Kane to have three or more shots @ 11/2 with Betfred
