The Sunday Mirror claim that Port Vale are interested in signing former Coventry City forward Tyler Walker.
Walker will be well-known to Vale fans as he spent a period on loan with the club in 2017. Signed on loan from Nottingham Forest, Walker scored twice in six games before injury brought his spell to an end.
The Valiants were previously rumoured to be interested in bringing the striker in on loan last summer and now the player has been released by Championship side Coventry City.
Sunday Mirror journalist Darren Witcoop says the Vale are one of a number of clubs interested in the player although according to Witcoop the club fear that they will not be able to compete financially with others.

The Vale are in the market for forwards having seen James Wilson and Jamie Proctor depart the club in the summer. Walker has had mixed success in League One. His loan spell with Portsmouth in 2021 yielded just one goal in 15 games, but a previous spell with Lincoln City in 2019 saw him score 16 times in 34 games.
The 26 year-old son of Nottingham Forest legend Des Walker has a total of 69 goals from 244 appearances.
