The Daily Record newspaper reports that Port Vale are one of three League One sides interested in a Tranmere Rovers right-back.
27 year-old Josh Dacres-Cogley has made just under a hundred appearances for Tranmere Rovers and could leave the League Two outfit when his current contract expires.
According to the Daily Record:
Aberdeen will face competition from Burton Albion, Lincoln City and Port Vale if they decide to re-ignite their interest in Josh Dacres-Cogley.
The English League One sides all want the full-back to step up a division when his Tranmere Rovers contract expires. The trio have already expressed their interest and can all give him a significant financial life on his current deal.
The 27-year-old who was a key target under former boss Jim Goodwin. Dacres-Cogley is still on Aberdeen’s radar but new boss Barry Robson has still to decide whether or not he wants to firm up the club’s interest again.
The defender started his professional career with Birmingham City but he found his first-team chances limited, making just thirty appearances over a five year spell. After a loan spell with Crawley Town, he moved to Tranmere in 2021. Then Tranmere manager Micky Mellon described the player as “quick, mobile and aggressive” when he signed for the club and the player has been a regular starter over the last two seasons.
