A 17-year-old boy is wanted by police after another teenager was fatally stabbed in Melbourne’s west.
Police say a fight between two groups of teens at Sunshine on Thursday ended with 16-year-old Melton South boy Pa Sawm Lyhym dying at the scene.
Another two 16-year-old boys were injured during the altercation, with one taken to hospital and the other treated on Station Place.
Investigators are yet to determine the reason behind the incident and have so far interviewed a 17-year-old Caroline Springs boy and an 18-year-old Burnside man.
Both were released pending further inquiries.
Detectives are trying to track down a 17-year-old boy from Hillside, who has not returned home since Friday.
Police described him as between 185 and 190 centimetres tall, with a slim build and short black hair in a dreadlocks style.
Officers have urged the boy to hand himself in to police, and for anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts to contact them.
Detective Superintendent Janet Stevenson on Friday revealed the altercation was between two groups from different schools in Melbourne’s west.
One of the groups appeared to be the aggressors and were seen chasing the victims through the streets before the fight, she said.
