A short time later emergency services attended a home at a nearby address in Arundel where two other men were found unresponsive.
Both were also transported to hospital where a 19-year-old male later died.
The brother of Broncos star Payne Haas was among those taken to hospital for treatment.
19-year-old Zeda Haas and a second man have since been discharged.
Superintendent Rhys Wildman says all three were together earlier in the night.
“We believe they were at the one location before one of the males left and went to a second location,” Superintendent Rhys Wildman told the ABC.

“Police are making inquiries in relation to exactly how the circumstances unfolded with those three males, whether there was a substance that was utilised by the three males.
“We are waiting some toxicology reports, which will take some time, and, of course, a report’s being prepared for the coroner.”
It’s been reported the trio may have taken the drug GHB or fantasy with Police looking into whether it was a bad batch of drugs.
“Obviously, you’re rolling the dice literally each time you purchase drugs from an unknown source and unfortunately, you can have tragic outcomes such as this.
“So we haven’t had any further reports but it’s obviously something for people to be mindful of.”
