Queensland Police released an image of one man who they say “may be able to assist with investigations”.
Just after 7pm two men entered the Riverside Boulevard bottle shop at Douglas.
One of the men produced a machete and demanded money from the female employee before fleeing the scene.
“The pair fled the scene on foot, joining a larger group waiting nearby,” Queensland Police said.
Both were described as being First Nation men around 165cm tall and with slim builds.
“One was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt with coloured ‘Dragonball Z’ lettering across the chest, along with a navy wide-brim hat, blue surgical mask and black gloves,” Queensland Police said.
The other was wearing white tracksuit pants.
Police are appealing for any information via Crimestoppers.
