THE Mount Gambier Disc Golf Club has remained a hive of activity over recent months, with league days, random format days and flex rounds held monthly.
Recently a group of club members travelled to Adelaide for the South Australian Open put on by the Adelaide Disc Golf Club at the Adelaide Parklands.
At the end of the competition MGDG faired well with wins and placings across several divisions.
Young-gun Jessica Holman won the FJ15 division, while Tayla Clarke took out the FA4 division in her first three-round event.
In MA3 Andrew Young-Jackway fell just one shot short to come home in second on a score of +10.
Kate Eldridge and Amy Weyers held onto their second and third positions in FA2, while Weyers also took out a CTP in Round 2.
In FA40 Michelle Schulz claimed the honours, an impressive 20 shots clear of her competitor.
In MA40 Mount Gambier went one-two, with Justin Clarke holding onto first place over clubmate Ryan Nicholson.
Next in line for the Mount Gambier club is a two-day event prior to the end of the season.
The event will combine the Crater Lakes Classic and Club Championships over one weekend and is set to attract players from across Australia.
The round will feature as an Australian Disc Golf event and will consist of two rounds of 18 holes.
Capped at 72 players, club president Mathew Weyers will act as tournament director.
With the coarse in great condition, another strong turnout is hoped for.
Mount Gambier Disc Golf thanks all sponsors for their support throughout the year and the committee and club members who have ensured events run smoothly.
