Pitso Mosimane is a champion yet again after guiding Al Ahli to the Saudi second-tier league title just eight months after arriving.
Serial winner Pitso Mosimane has added to his burgeoning trophy cabinet by guiding his Al Ahli Saudi side to a historic league title in a dramatic title chase with a 1-0 win over Al-Qadisiyah in the penultimate match of the season.
Mosimane’s side required a win with their rivals dropping points to guarantee league honours to coincide with their return to the top-flight.

The script had a fairytale ending with Al Ahli securing a home win while rivals Al Akhdoud fell 3-2 to Al Sahel handing Mosimane a league title in his maiden season.
Mosimane’s side now boast a 4-point advantage with 71 points while second-placed Al Hazm are on 67 points.
Even if Al Hazm win their last game at home to Al Ahli, they can only reach 70 points.
The Saudi Arabia second tier league carries prizemoney of a minimum of around R25 million under the Yelo sponsorship.
Mosimane has been with Al Ahli since September 2022 and through that time has won 19, drawn six, and lost three which have been results that have led to the club’s promotion back to the Saudi Pro League next season where Cristiano Ronaldo will be an opponent.
With another trophy in the bag, it means Mosimane has now won trophies with all clubs that he has coached from SuperSport United, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Al Ahly.
While the title is secure for Al Ahli the matter of Mosimane’s future is still pending with his contract reportedly set to expire at the end of the season and no extension deal in the bag.
The 58-year-old has been linked with the Super Eagles job and Esperance amongst options on the continent.
