Pip Edwards loves to make a daring style statement when she hits the town, but on Sunday she opted for a more minimal approach at a Welcome to Sydney event ahead of Afterpay Australian Fashion Week.
The 43-year-old P.E National designer looked chic in an all-black ensemble consisting of high-waited jeans, a scoop-neck top and an oversized blazer.
Pip allowed her beauty to shine through as she snuggled in to best friend Milly Gattegno, the former girlfriend of TV host-turned-actor Darren McMullen.
Elsewhere, Milly, who is rumoured to be dating someone new, looked pretty in pink in an oversized shirt as she posed alongside the successful retailer.
Pip’s muted look comes after the Sydney party queen slipped into a see-through dress last week that left very little to the imagination.
The racy ‘trail of glitter’ dress by Common Hours is proving to be Pip’s latest traffic-stopper.
She teamed the look with a black leather jacket and heels, and designer underwear that was visible beneath the eye-popping frock.
This isn’t the first time the fashion designer has worn the dress. Pip shimmied her rock-hard Pilates frame into the revealing number in April to celebrate her 43rd.
It comes after Pip said her main focus was taking care of herself after revealing her private health struggle in March.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, she said her life was turned upside down almost three years ago after she was diagnosed with perimenopause
Menopause is the natural time in a woman’s life where they have gone through 12 months without menstruating.
The term perimenopause refers to the transition phase into menopause, and can involve symptoms like irregular menstrual cycles, hot flashes, decreased fertility and sleep issues.
Most Australian women enter perimenopause their mid-40s, and then begin menopause between the ages of 45 and 60.
Pip, who developed symptoms in her late thirties, recalled how she was taken by surprise by a severe hot flush while attending her 16-year-old son Justice’s basketball game.
‘I had to take myself outside and literally was in a frenzy of trying to take my clothes off. I was like, this is not right!’ she said, adding that she was so overwhelmed that she was reduced to ‘tears’.
Pip said she ‘didn’t notice’ her symptoms prior to this as she was too focussed on maintaining her fitness, growing her business and raising her only child Justice, who she shares with ex Dan Single.
