Yeppoon CBD on James Street is home to the newly opened At Pilates Studio with a 24-hour seven-days a week service for your convenience.
Co-owners Christian and Jessie Burgess and Matt and Elle Wallin have teamed up to bring the new business to life.
Christian said it was an appreciation of health and fitness that spurred the two couples to bring the business to Yeppoon.
“My wife Jessie is a chiropractor who works with babies and mothers and I have a long history in the fitness industry,” Christian said.
“We have seen how health and wellness are important to people on the Capricorn Coast with multiple gyms trading across the area successfully and we wanted to bring something different to the region in an alternative option.
“We wanted people of all levels of fitness to be able to access Pilates at their convenience so we have instructors available to assist or you can access the studio yourself at a time that suits your schedule, so this studio is perfect for shift workers.
“Our instructors are also on hand for beginners and will guide you through the process with a custom created orientation.”
Christian said Pilates is perfect for cardio work outs to lose weight and increases flexibility and mobility.
“There is a yoga component with added resistance and we use low impact reformer beds which decreases stress on hips, knees and ankles.
“There is no age barrier with Pilates and you can opt to work out for as little as 15 minutes or do 50-minute sessions.
“Members can come as often as they like and are not locked into contracts so there is no need to pay while you are away, you just pause your membership.
“We have packages available and in July we will also offer casual packages.”
Christian said the business already has 190 members and numbers are already growing.

About Pilates
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility.
Pilates moves tend to target your core, although the exercises work other areas of your body as well.
Pilates is not restricted to specific body parts and is designed to work the entire body.
Although Pilates is specifically defined as exercise for the core or abdominal muscles, it is important that clients know that the core includes the entire trunk, which is the abdominals, the hips, the inner and outer thighs, and the back.
There are many benefits to doing Pilates.
It is a full-body exercise method that will help you do everything better.
It strengthens and stabilizes your core body, which is your foundation, so that you can move efficiently while improving your posture, flexibility, and mobility.
And if you’re looking for functional movement, the kind that helps you move better on a day-to-day basis while doing everyday tasks, Pilates can train you in that too.
