The matchups for the PIAA were announced on Friday, and 2 of the 3 teams still alive will have home games on Monday for that opening game.
In 3A, Chestnut Ridge will host District 7 runner-up Southmoreland at 4:30, while in 2A, Everett will be at home at 4:30 p.m. against District 7 runner-up Laurel, a team Everett lost to last year, 5-0. It was the only loss for the Lady Warriors in the past 2 seasons.
Claysburg-Kimmel was told at the District 6-A Championship that it would host the first round game, but it will be at Central Cambria H.S. at 4 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs will play District 7 fourth-place team Frazier, a team that Everett beat 3-2 in the playoffs last year.
According to the TribReview state softball rankings, Claysburg-Kimmel is ranks third in A and Everett is second in 2A.
The winners will play in the quarterfinals on Thursday, while the semifinals will be on Monday, June 12.
The finals will be held at Penn State. The class A and 3A will be on Friday, while AA will be on Thursday.
