Westborough – Peter A. DeCarolis, 64, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the UMASS University Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his sister Andy Ferragamo and husband Ron, York, Maine; his sister Karen Chapdelaine and William Spring, Northborough, Mass; his brother John DeCarolis, Westborough, Mass and his sister Jennifer Forsberg, Grafton, Mass. He also leaves four nieces and four nephews.
Peter also leaves his love of a lifetime, Erin Delahaunty, “his little cupcake”.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, Barbara DeCarolis and Anthony DeCarolis. He is also pre-deceased by a nephew, Sean Chapdelaine.
Peter attended Westborough High School. He worked many years at Data General Corporation in Westborough until he transferred to DGC NH facility. Once DGC closed, upon his return to Westborough, he became the primary caregiver for his Mother until she passed. He has worked the last three years with his Westboro “Stop & Shop family”, loved by all.
Peter was an avid naturalist, fisherman and outdoorsman, always sharing his immense understanding and environmental philosophy with all. Peter also had an encyclopedic knowledge, not only of contemporary music, but of the roots of Rock & Roll.
Peter was an “Old Soul”. His kindness and gentle nature was felt by everyone he touched. “Although our world is truly diminished without him, his Light & Life remain. ”
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 P.M. on Saturday, June 24, in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St, Westborough, MA. The family will also be having a Celebration of Life at a later date with information to follow.
