As always, y’all had much to say about this week’s stories on PerthNow, but the time has come where the crème de la crème gets picked out by yours truly; here are this moderator’s fave comments.
Lots of f*cks given about ‘Zeros Given’, the no-alcohol bar
Booze-free beers, zero per cent spirits and de-alcoholised wines were on the menu at the Zeros Given pop-up, wowing Ord Valley Muster crowds and Kununurra locals. The bar aimed to fill the void of options for locals who want a healthier way to socialise in an area with a “normalised” drinking culture. Sure, it’s an amazing and thoughtful concept, but some PerthNow readers were still unsure of the bar’s purpose, with Meghan M capturing the irony perfectly:
“Like going to the brothel for a hug…”
Who doesn’t love a good hug or mocktail, though?
Brazilian Butt Lifts are ruining lives!
In more pressing matters, Australian TikToker and influencer Mikaela Testa revealed she struggled with her body image and lied to her followers for an entire year over a surgery she had. In a video posted to TikTok, Testa came clean about her Brazilian Butt Lift and her other surgeries, which she calls the most “disgusting” thing she’s ever done. We couldn’t leave our signature PerthNow trashiness behind, though, and had to show y’all that BBL Mikaela had been talking about with a very scandalous pic. Our readers didn’t love it, though; apparently, an ass pic in the middle of the afternoon isn’t to everyone’s taste, especially Edward W’s:
“Put me right off my rissoles for lunch.”
Not Mikaela Testa’s ass ruining your lunch breaks I hate y’all, LMAO 😭😭😭
Newsflash! the real Perthonalities are in the PN comments
Earlier this week, PerthNow released the ultimate list of the Perthiest Perthonalities. From Spud Shed’s very own Toni Galati to John Hughes and his car dealership, we covered 20 people embodying everything it means to be a Perthonality. Still, Lila H felt that some names were missing:
“This article saddens me. The real Perthonalities are the people who comment on PN. Andy H, EPZ, Ian H, Anne D, MissTrader123, Meghan M, James D, Damon D, Steve R, Darren M, Ian F, Shiny M, Alan B, Tim M, Glenn H and anyone else who I missed. These socialites haven’t done anything for me. Whereas the people above make me laugh.”
It’s so nice when y’all are nice to eachother but still hating on whatever the article is about, bless!
How to be an LGTBQ Ally 101
We also had a list of Perth’s most influential LGBTQIA+ personalities for Pride month. Even though this comment moderator is quite shaken to not be featured, PerthNow’s Pink Power List featured twenty-five politicians, popstars, performers and presenters that dominate our State’s 2.6 million population. And while most comments are full of straight white guys complaining, Gordon B shared a courageous take:
“Personally, I don’t have any problem with HDTV-LEDs!”
A for effort, Gordon <3
Till next time! Thanks for making me giggle at my desk!
