IRISH dancing with a surreal twist is set to wow the audience at Ulumbarra Theatre on the first Saturday in June.
Celtic Illusion Reimagined, the brainchild of former Lord of the Dance lead Anthony Street, is a unique production combining “spellbinding illusions, music and choreography”, with previous iterations touring extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Canada and the US.
Co-star Georgia May has travelled globally herself with many different Irish dance productions and worked on and off stage for Celtic Illusion for the past decade.
She said Street’s love for magic started when he was 10 years old at a local festival, where he marvelled at a magician doing tricks with rope.
“Then he discovered Irish dancing when Riverdance performed on Eurovision,” she said.
“He toured the world for many years as the leading role in Lord of the Dance before returning home to combine both his passions into Celtic Illusion.”
May said audience members can expect an exciting experience of modern Irish dance, magic and grand illusions fused with “an incredible score”.
“It has been evolving, growing and changing throughout the years with this year’s show boasting new illusions, music and costumes,” she said.
“Let us transport you to an exciting reprieve from reality. This is Irish dancing like you’ve never seen it before. The show is an experience not to be missed.”
Celtic Illusion Reimagined comes to the Ulumbarra Theatre on Saturday, 3 June. Further information is available on the Bendigo Region via bit.ly/41yY0Sh.
