Shenzhen Xunlong Software has refreshed the Orange Pi 800, practically a year after introducing the inaugural model. As its name suggests, the Orange Pi 800 is an alternative to the Raspberry Pi 400. As such, the former is a single-board computer (SBC) that Shenzhen Xunlong Software has integrated within a tenkeyless (TKL) keyboard.
Seemingly, the manufacturer has only changed one element from last year’s Orange Pi 800. As CNX Software notes, Shenzhen Xunlong Software’s AliExpress listing is identical save for mentioning 128 GB of eMMC flash storage, up from 64 GB. The new Orange Pi 800 still features a MicroSD card reader too, as well as USB Type-A ports for adding external storage.
Additionally, the Orange Pi 800 retains a Rockchip RK3399 chipset, 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and numerous I/O exposed on its rear side. Likewise, the SBC continues to weigh 385 g and measures 286 x 122 x 24 mm. The new Orange Pi 800 is available for US$108, before factoring in shipping and taxes. For reference, Shenzhen Xunlong Software charged US$99 for the 64 GB edition. In other words, the new Orange Pi 800 is only a small surcharge for double the built-in storage.
