The landscape of the Nutrien Ag Solutions Country Football Championships will be starkly different this year, with several teams returning to the field.
For the first time since 2005, the Onshore Cup Football Association — a thriving South West-based competition played fortnightly — will return to the carnival in division three.
It will also be a significant moment for the North Pilbara Football League, which will be making its first senior country week appearance since 1990.
WAFC official Brett Sheridan is delighted with the level of the buy-in of the concept.
“To have 18 of our 25 senior affiliated leagues coming to the championships this year is a fantastic result,” he said.
“We can’t wait to see what North Pilbara bring to the table as a participant for the first time in over 30 years and it is exciting to have the likes of Esperance and Onshore Cup returning after such a long time.”
