Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one person in connection with a double homicide in Pembroke over the Victoria Day long weekend.
On Monday, May 22, officers were called to a residence on Mackay Street in Pembroke, where two people were found with life-threatening injuries, both were taken to hospital and one person was pronounced dead. Police say another person was found dead in the immediate area.
The two have been confirmed as 16-year-old Noah Nathaniel Annis and Alando Omario Davidson both from Mississauga, who died from gunshot wounds. A third 16-year-old also from Mississauga sustained serious injuries in connection with the incident. Police believe it was a targeted attack.
Nearly a week after the double homicide, police have arrested 21-year-old Zacharie Robert Lamoureux, from Ottawa.
He faces the following charges:
– Two counts of first-degree murder
– Attempt to commit murder using a firearm
Lamoureux was remanded into custody until his court date in June.
