Garry Dean Anderson: 1954 – 2023
Garry Dean Anderson passed away the morning of June 12, 2023 at the age of 69 at his home.
Garry was born April 19, 1954 in Hay Springs, Nebraska in the old folks home and maternity ward to Donald D. and Patsy A. (Foreman) Anderson.
Garry grew up splitting time between Hay Springs, Nebraska and Casper, Wyoming. He graduated from Natrona County High School in 1973. Garry joined the Army later that year and proudly served as a mechanic in the combat engineers. He also received a National Service Medal for sharpshooter (rifle).
He was honorably discharged in 1976.
In December, at the Ranch-City Party in Casper, he met Alice Edwards. They had a whirlwind time and were engaged in February 1977 and married on April 30, 1977. In July of 1978 their first son, Garry Dean Jr. was born and in 1980 Brent was born. Everything Garry did was for his family. Garry worked as a mechanic for most of his life, and loved it.
Garry was a member of Boyd Avenue Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and served wherever needed.
The highlight of his life was harassing his grandchildren!
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Alice; two sons, Dean (Rachelle) Anderson of Mitchell, Nebraska and Brent (Amy) Anderson of Moorcroft, Wyoming; along with 7 grandchildren: Ella and Corbin Anderson of Mitchell, Nebraska and Elizabeth, Rebekah, Jacob, Mary and Naomi Anderson of Moorcroft, Wyoming; his brothers, Jerry (Esther) Anderson of Casper, Wyoming and Andy Anderson of Louviers, Colorado; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donald (Andy) and Pat Anderson; and his in-laws, Lloyd and Margie Edwards.
Services will be at Boyd Avenue Baptist Church on Tuesday June 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
Thomas William Hanson: 1937 – 2023
Memorial service for Thomas Hanson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2023 at First United Methodist Church. Thomas William Hanson beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather passed away peacefully of natural causes at home on June 14, 2023 at the age of 86.
Tom was born on January 6, 1937 in Berkley, California to Fred and Mildred Hanson.
On March 18, 1956 he married Carol Elaine Koop in Upton, Wyoming. To this union five children were born: David Hanson, Michael (Darcy) Hanson, Jane (Byron) Hanson, Janice (Michael) Curry, and Timothy (Maurica) Hanson.
He was a self-driven, hard-working individual which he applied to every aspect of his life; including his career in the oilfield. Once while working he saved a mother dog from harm; the rancher gave him his beloved dog, Patches.
His passions were hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. During retirement he loved playing cards daily which kept his mind young. He even played cards the day before he passed. Tom was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; which he loved dearly.
