The Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation (NRRC) has released its latest dashboard update with 340 valuations undertaken under the buyback program, 260 offers made and 104 offers accepted.
Initial eligibility assessments have now been carried out for 1031 homeowners and the NRRC will contact all homeowners registered for the program and tell them of their indicative eligibility across the three streams – buybacks, house raising and retrofitting.
The NRRC will notify homeowners by phone and email by mid-2023. To date, 6471 people have registered for the Resilient Homes Program.
Starting this week, more than 160 registered homeowners will be informed of their indicative eligibility for a home buyback under the Resilient Homes Program, as the NRRC increases its place-based approach to community engagement, starting in North Lismore.
The NRRC is also preparing to recommence its program of community-popups in key locations across the Northern Rivers, supported by a range of information and engagement activities.
Buybacks in some of the hardest flood hit areas of Lismore, Tweed, Byron Bay, Richmond Valley, Kyogle, Ballina and the Clarence Valley are being prioritised in the first phase of the program.
The Resilient Homes Program also includes house raising and retrofitting and the NRRC will shortly announce the Managing Contractor for the raising and retrofit streams of the Resilient Homes Program, with work to start for these streams from Q3 2023.
