Canberra Raiders have secured the services of forward Emre Guler for two more years after he inked an extension which will keep him in the nation’s capital until at least the end of 2025.
“I’m really excited and it wasn’t a hard choice for me,” Guler said after agreeing to fresh terms.

Guler has established himself as a regular in Ricky Stuart’s NRL side in 2023, featuring in all nine of Canberra’s matches to date.

The 25-year-old has become a key part of his side’s rotation off the interchange with the prop coming off the bench and injecting himself into the contest during the past five matches in a row which has seen the Raiders record four consecutive victories.
“I spoke to Sticky early on in the year and we discussed me staying here and that’s been the plan and I feel like I’ve been playing good footy and it’s worked out,” Guler said.
“I’ve been here now for a few years and Canberra’s home for me, so it made my decision a lot easier and there’s a bunch of lads that I’ve played with for that entire time and it’s good to come through with them and keep working with them.”
Canberra’s style of play is built around the powerful pack Stuart has assembled which is headlined by representative front-rowers Joe Tapine and Josh Papalii, who Guler praised for helping him improve since he first arrived at the club in 2018.
“I’ve learnt a lot of Papa and Taps and I’ve been watching them and working with them for years now and they’re great role models for the community and great players,” he said.
Yet Guler was also keen to highlight how the next batch of forwards were beginning to make their mark on the side and that he was excited for what the future held for the emerging Raiders.
“We have a great bunch of young players coming through like ‘Big Red’ (Corey Horsburgh) and Hudson Young and hopefully we can keep building those combos and grow together,” he said.
