A new public aged care facility has been announced for the Goulburn Valley region.
Victorian Minister for Health Infrastructure, Mary-Anne Thomas today visited NCN Health Numurkah to meet with staff and residents and discuss the Government’s plans to deliver a new purpose-built public aged care facility.
The Victorian Budget 2023/24 pledged more than $54 million to build a modern, dementia-friendly aged care facility at NCN Health’s Numurkah Campus.
The project will create a new 36-bed facility next to the Numurkah Karinya Nursing Home and hospital acute ward – featuring larger, more spacious and functional rooms to allow for improved mobility and care for residents.
Part of a $162 million package in the Victorian Budget 2023/24 that is also delivering new public aged care facilities in Cohuna and Maffra – the Numurkah facility will cater for residents with complex support needs while creating a safer and more efficient working environment for staff.
Minister Thomas said the new public aged care facilities will help ensure older Victorians remain connected to their communities, in facilities providing modern care that support independence and privacy.
“We’re doing what matters – delivering much-needed high-quality residential aged care services that will benefit older Victorians across the Goulburn Valley,” she said.
