RARITAN BOROUGH – A liquor store and ice cream shop may be coming to Route 206 just south of the Somerville Circle.
Amrutha LLC’s proposal for the building, which has housed Bench Flooring and Blue Star Cleaners, at the northwest corner of Frelinghuysen Avenue and Route 206, is scheduled to be heard by the Planning Board on June 28.
No changes are planned for the building, according to plans submitted to the borough.
The liquor store would occupy the space that was the flooring store, and the ice cream shop would be in the dry cleaners space.
The liquor store would be approximately 3,211 square feet and the ice cream shop would be approximately 1,114 square feet.
The second floor of the building would continue to be used as an apartment.
The liquor store, with a tentative name of Wine Grand, would be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Customers would be in the store for approximately five to 10 minutes, the plans say.
