A video showing a naked man vandalising a statue of the late South African president Nelson Mandela at the Union Building in Pretoria has left Mzansi talking after finding out the reason behind his scandalous behaviour, several publications reported.
A NAKED MAN VANDELISES A STATUE OF NELSON MANDELA TO PROTEST
According to the South African Government website, the “9m bronze statue was unveiled by former president Jacob Zuma at the Union Building on 16 December 2013 as part of the Reconciliation Day annual celebrations and the commemoration of the centenary of the Union Buildings.”
After seeing the naked man vandalising the statue in a viral video trending online recently, citizens in Mzansi understood the man’s frustration when they learned that he was protesting again the load shedding issue in the country. Police officers were also seen escorting the man after urging him to put on clothing.
Load shedding continues to be a problem in South Africa. According to eNCA, Eskom’s new national document proposed the implementation of power cuts reaching up to stage 16.
