A man charged with murder after a body was found in a home on the Sunshine Coast is due to face a Queensland court.
The body of 69-year-old Christopher Gwin was found at his home at Conondale, about 100 kilometres north of Brisbane, on Saturday afternoon.
Concerned neighbours entered the property after he had not been seen in the tight-knit community of Crystal Waters for a few days.
Investigators allege Mr Gwin was stabbed to death.
A 68-year-old Maroochydore man known to the victim has been charged with murder and interfering with a corpse.
Multiple crime scenes, including two vehicles and three properties, have been declared across the Sunshine Coast.
Mr Gwin was a former teacher’s aide who had lived in the community for several years and was well-known and popular.
“Christopher is a well-liked member of the Crystal Waters community, who are shocked and saddened over his death. His family have been notified and are distraught with the circumstances of his death,” Sunshine Coast Detective Inspector Christopher Toohey said at the weekend.
The accused is expected to face Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
Detectives renewed their appeal for anyone with dash cam or CCTV captured nearby the Kilcoy Lane property in the past week with information to contact police.
