Girls lacrosse
Mount St. Joseph 9, Marple-Newtown 8: The Mount trailed 7-4 at the half, but rallied for the win in the first round of the District 1-2A playoffs. Katie Westmoreland led Mount with three goals and one assist, while Amelia and Gabby Clair each added two goals. Maggie Rezza also scored for the Magic, while Annie Shields made eight saves in net.
Archbishop Carroll 30, Archbishop Wood 2: Carroll scored early and often in beating Wood 30-2 and advancing to the PCL Championship game on Friday night at Neumann University. Ava Bleckley had 6 goals, 5 assists, and 8 DCs. Machaela Henry added 5 goals, 2 assists, and 2 DCs. Goalies Bridget Robinson and Mae Radar got the win for Carroll and stopped 2 Wood shots. Wood’s goals were scored by Tess Wahrich and Grace Hoeger. Goalie Molly White stopped five Carroll shots.
Boys lacrosse
St. Joe’s Prep 14, LC 2: The Crusaders fell behind 9-0 at the half and dropped the contest in the PCL semifinals on Wednesday. Jack Kennedy made 23 saves in net for LC, whjile Caleb Moiser and Patch Flannery scored goals. Dan Curran won 12 of 19 faceoffs for LC, who will play in the District 12-2A semifinals on May 30th at Northeast High School.
Baseball
CB West 5, Souderton 2: Souderton held a slim 2-1 lead but CB West finally broke through in the bottom of the 6th with four runs to take the lead and eventual win. Souderton had six hits including 2 RBIs by Joey Crecca and another clean defensive effort with no errors. Mike Bukowski paced the West offense with a home run and two RBIs, while Alex Jenkinson picked up the win with 4.1 innings of scoreless relief.
Pennridge 7, CB South 1: Patrick Mill scattered six hits and one run as the Rams closed out the season with a win on Wednesday. Matt Atchley was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, while Joey Santora also doubled for Pennridge.
Softball
Upper Dublin 2, Hatboro-Horsham 1: Kyla Garrison twirled a three-hitter as the Cardinals (15-5, 12-4) picked up the SOL Liberty win on Wednesday. Bella Fiore doubled and singled, while Kaitlyn Zacharia also had two hits for the Cards. Maddie Small delivered an RBI triple, while Kaelin Penna added a go-ahead RBI single. Amiya Lundy was 2-for-3 with an RBI triple and two stolen bases for the Hatters.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 10, Wissahickon 0: The Colonials celebrated Senior Night in style with the win on Wednesday. Senior pitcher Molly Moore recorded her 400th strikeout and also went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBIs, while senior Grace Carney went 1-for-2 at the plate and pitched two scoreless innings. Sam Skivo also hit a home run for PW, while Kalina Childers and Madison Moran hit doubles.
