Goodwin appointed
Dundee United might be staring relegation in the face, but Tannadice chiefs have gone all-in with Jim Goodwin.
Just last night, they confirmed the ex-Aberdeen gaffer had been handed a two-year deal.
Goodwin was appointed on a short-term deal until the end of the current campaign following Liam Fox’s sacking.
United supremos reckon Goodwin is the man to ‘reviltalise the football department’ ahead of next season.
Half-time!
It’s a huge day of football with the Women’s Scottish Cup Final reaching half-time at Hampden.
There’s been nothing to separate the Old Firm yet and it’s Celtic 0 Rangers 0 after the first 45 at the national stadium.
The play-off place nobody wants
Just above Dundee United, as mentioned, are Ross County.
Malky Mackay’s men currently occupy 11th spot, putting them on a play-off collision course with Partick Thistle.
However, County could yet secure safety today.
That’s because they travel to Rugby Park to take on 10th placed Kilmarnock, who are just three points above County.
And the Staggies have a goal difference SIX better-off than Killie, meaning a win today will ensure their Premiership status next season and instead send the Ayrshire men into the play-off.
Derek McInnes’ side know if they avoid defeat they’ll secure a second successive campaign back in the top tier.
This is where the drama could really be at this afternoon!
