Morphettville horse racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:02) Carbine Club of SA (2028m)
#6 – Silent Surrente @ $3.10
Silente Surrente is already a two-time winner this preparation after scoring at Morphettville last time out.
The four-year-old mare scored by 1.5 lengths against a tidy field and that form should stack up nicely again on Saturday.
Dropping to 54kg adds weight to her chances.
Race 2. (12:37) Skycity BM72 (1050m)
#11 – Bubble Palace @ $4
Bubble Palace turned her form around when winning at Horsham last start by 1.8 lengths.
The three-year-old filly by Rich Enuff had been taking on tougher opposition in Melbourne, so she should enjoy this level of racing.
We’re not surprised by the odds available with bookmakers.
Race 3. (13:12) David Coles AM Stakes (1200m)
#1 – Heuristic @ $4.60
Heuristic didn’t have all favours when running second last time out, so he could turn the tables on that result.
The James Cummings-trained runner owns a win and four placings from six starts, so he doesn’t know how to run a bad race.
Barrier two is ideal and he shouldn’t need to rely on luck.
Race 4. (13:47) Ken and Helen Smith SA Classic (2500m)
#1 – Let’sbefrankbaby @ $3.50
The current favourite owns two wins this preparation and she looks like a nice staying filly on the rose.
She won at Cranbourne narrowly last start, which followed a third behind some smart types at Morphettville two back.
Anything close to that form should be good enough, so take the odds available.
Race 5. (14:22) R A Lee Stakes (1600m)
#9 – Foxy Frida @ $2.05
Foxy Frida won at Bendigo to kick off her preparation before finishing second behind Caste at Morphettville last start.
The five-year-old mare by Foxwedge has yet to run worse than second from three attempts on the track, so she’s a course specialist.
Carrying the light weight makes her awfully tough to beat.
Race 6. (14:57) Thomas Farms Centaurea Stakes (2028m)
#8 – Thought Provoking @ $4
Thought Provoking was a good thing beaten at her last two starts when getting awful luck in the straight.
The five-year-old was pocketed on both occasions before getting out late and sprinting well to the line, so Morphettville should allow her to find room.
Getting a senior rider in the saddle could make all the difference.
Race 7. (15:37) Petaluma Proud Miss Stakes (1200m)
#4 – Foxicon @ $3.30
Foxicon has been in sublime form this season after posting four wins from five attempts.
The four-year-old mare owns five wins from nine starts overall, and her win at Sandown came by 2.3 lengths over Snapped.
That’s an excellent form guide and we thought her odds would be shorter.
Race 9. (16:55) Grand Syndicates BM64 (1200m)
#9 – Way to Go Paula @ $9
Way to Go Paula is having a hard time winning a race but she has more ability than most in this race.
The five-year-old daughter of Nostramadus loves running over the distance with 14 starts for three wins and six placings, so that bodes well.
Craig Williams rides and that adds to our confidence.
