Toxic Smoke And Haze Engulfs The Southern Tier
(Bob Joseph) Tuesday (6/6) was reported to be 169 which is considered to be an unhealthy level for virtually everyone. A typical Binghamton-area reading for this time of year would be around 44.
Lourdes To Be Acquired By Guthrie
(Bob Joseph) Guthrie announced its plan to acquire Lourdes and its affiliates from Ascension on Thursday. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. The proposed sale is to include all Lourdes locations and the hospital’s related physician practices.
One-Car Motor Vehicle Accident Results In Death
(Broome County Sheriff’s Office) According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office June 2nd news release, on May 15th, deputies were dispatched to an accident on Interstate 88 westbound near Exit 6 in Harpursville. The operator and sole occupant was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to injuries later in the day.
Maine Car-Motorcycle Accident
(Broome County Sheriff’s Office) According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, a car- motorcycle accident occurred at the intersection of Route 26 and East Maine Road in the Town of Maine on June 3rd, resulting in serious injuries.
Pallas’s Cats Born at Ross Park Zoo
(Don Morgan) Just two months after the birth of three Sand Cats, four Pallas’s Cats were born at the Ross Park Zoo in April. They are one of the smallest of the wild cat species, weighing in at 5 to 9 pounds fully-grown.
Person Injured In Vestal Country Club Attack
(Bob Joseph) A man who was struck in the chest with an arrow at the Vestal Hills Country Club has pleaded guilty to felony weapon possession counts. Police were called to the abandoned country club on Webb Road in the Town of Binghamton around after a report that a man had been shot with a crossbow.
New Binghamton License Plate Readers Installed
(Bob Joseph) New license plate readers and street surveillance cameras are being installed across the city of Binghamton. In addition to the new license plate readers, more street cameras are being installed.
