Mayo senior manager Kevin McStay has made three changes to the team that started with Mayo’s victory over Louth for this weekend’s final round 3 game against Cork at the Gaelic Grounds Limerick this Sunday the 18th June at 2pm.
The three changes to the Mayo team are, Ballina Stephenites Padraig O’Hora replaces Diarmuid O’Connor which will see Stephen Coen move to midfield. Mayo captain Paddy Durcan and Westport’s Fionn McDonagh are both names to start ahead of Donnacha McHugh and Jason Doherty.
Colm Reape continues in goal with Jack Coyne, David McBrien in front with Padraig O’Hora now named at corner back. Sam Callinan moves to the half back line alongside Conor Loftus and Paddy Durcan. Paddy will be making his 50th championship appearance this Sunday.
The ever-reliable Stephen Coen and Matthew Ruane are named at midfield. The pair were both solid at midfield together in Mayo’s U21 All Ireland victory against Cork in 2016.
The half forward line consists of Westport’s Fionn McDonagh partnering Jack Carney and Jordan Flynn with Aidan O’Shea at the edge of the square alongside James Carr and Ryan O’Donoghue to complete the Mayo full forward line. Knockmore pair Darren McHale and Mayo stalwart Kevin McLoughlin both return to the bench with Eoghan McLaughlin who suffered a hand injury in the first round against Kerry. Down’s Paul Faloon has been named as referee for this game.
