The following contains major spoilers for Bishop: War College #4 from Marvel Comics.
Bishop meets an Iron Man variant who wants to kill all the mutants in Marvel’s Bishop: War College #4.
Bishop: War College #4 comes from writer J. Holtham, artists Sean Damien Hill, Victor Nava and Alberto Foche, colorist Espen Grundetjern and letterer VC’s Travis Lanham. In the five-issue miniseries, Bishop has found himself on Earth-63, where he’s met an all-Black version of the X-Men. At the end of Bishop: War College #3, Bishop arrived in this world’s New York City only to then be attacked by a team of supervillains calling themselves the “Human Liberation Front.”
Bishop: War College #3 reveals these villains to be none other than this world’s Tony Stark, Feilong, Simon Trask and Moira MacTaggert, all of whom are equipped with their own Iron Man armor. The villains harbor a serious hatred for all mutants, with Tony yelling, “It’s time for humanity to rise up!” while flying into the battle.
Marvel Is Sending Bishop and Tempo Back in Time
Luckily, Bishop is joined by the X-Men — Warren Worthington III/Angel, Cyclops/Scott Summers, Marvel Girl/Jean Grey, Beast/Hank McCoy, Wolverine/Logan and Nightcrawler/Kurt Wagner — to turn the tide of the battle; however, things quickly spiral when Moira activates an explosion device. Before it can fully detonate, Tempo/Heather Tucker stops time to mourn the loss of this world’s version of her father. The issue ends with Heather trying to rewrite history, despite Bishop’s warnings that it can’t be done. “Heather, this isn’t our time. Not our world,” he tries to tell Tempo.
The Bishop: War College miniseries concludes on June 7, 2023. The synopsis for the final issue reads, “TIME IS AN UNCONQUERABLE BEAST! Tempo traps herself and Bishop in a time loop of her past trauma. Will she be able to allow festering wounds heal so she and Bishop can figure out a way back home? Meanwhile, the War College students are fighting for their lives, and the lives of Krakoa’s mutants, against the Struckers and Orchis. Help may be on the way, but timing these days has a funny way of putting our favorite mutants in the worst positions possible. Read the last issue of the BISHOP: WAR COLLEGE miniseries to find out how this time-warped, action-packed plot ends!”
Bishop: War College #4 features cover art by Ken Lashley and Juan Fernandez and variant cover art by Cory Smith and Rachelle Rosenberg. The issue is on sale now from Marvel.
