Our Albo’s, all-time favourite Greek restaurant, the famous Corinthian Rotisserie, just took home the Inner West Council Small Business Award for being the most outstanding restaurant.
More than just a restaurant it is an institution. Nestled Marrickville, once a working-class Greek suburb, that has succumbed to gentrification, this restaurant is a time capsule that has withstood the test of time for 40 years.
Its authenticity is an oasis in a sea of hipster joints that saturate inner Sydney.
The atmosphere is not the only thing that draws people in; it’s the mouth-watering meals that keep them coming back for more.
Albo has been a loyal customer for two decades, and he’s not alone in his admiration for this gem. In fact, the restaurant’s lamb cooked by the masterful hands of Marie Giannakelos is “to die for,” according to our PM.
Speaking of the Giannakelos family, the restaurant’s owner Frank, now is 80 years young, and his wife Marie, 70, have mastered the art of creating dishes that entice the taste buds.
Their menu which includes coal grilled kefalakia for the brave, includes a range or authentic grills, moussaka, calamari and more.
The Corinthian has stood the test of time and is a beacon for those of us looking for tradition and authenticity.
