About Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT
At Flinders NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health.
Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SA+NT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce. All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community.

About the Role
Flinders University, Rural and Remote Health has a unique opportunity for a Marketing and Communications star to drive engagement from audiences in the Northern Territory. Working on strategies and campaigns aligned to strategic priorities, you will have a range of content responsibilities including website enhancement, adverting, publications, social media, videos, events, e-Newsletters, and internal communications. You will work on events, integrated media campaigns, and multimedia content with appropriate subject-matter experts. This position will lead in building relationships and driving stakeholder engagement, promoting, and helping to build audiences of Flinders Rural and Remote Health.
Collaboration is key for the Rural and Remote Health, Media and Communications Officer, working closely day-to-day with the Rural and Remote Health Team, Central Marketing, PR and Communication Teams, as well as the wider College of Medicine and Public Health (CMPH), other Flinders University Colleges and other professionals within the Flinders network.
About You
We are looking for a motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, who can work independently and part of a matrix team environment and who can leverage strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your own style of communication is exceptional, understanding the importance of cultural awareness across the areas of the Northern Territory Flinders operates in, as well as in your written communication collateral. Ideally, you have experience in promoting higher education institutions, and you understand the relationship between teaching, research, and professional engagement.
In addition, you will demonstrate:
- Completion of a degree in communications, media studies, marketing, or a related discipline with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and / or education and / or training.
- Experience in producing integrated media campaigns.
- Experience in writing, editing and proof-reading content for online channels tailored to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of CMS platform and CRM tool, as well as an understanding of Adobe Experience Manager and WordPress.

This position involves child related work and is assessed as requiring a Working with Children Clearance/Ochre Card.
