Emergency services were called to a unit block on Suzanne street, in South Tamworth, at about 3.15pm Sunday.

Following inquiries, detectives attended a home on Cossa Street, South Tamworth, just before 10pm and arrested a 28-year-old man.
The Oxley Police district commander, Superintendent Bruce Grassick, said the two men were “known to each other, not in a domestic relationship, but known to each other.”
“They were with each other for most of the day before this happened,” he said.
No charges filed
Superintendent Grassick said the victim’s family had been contacted.
“It is an extremely traumatic time for his family,” he said.
“They are processing this situation at the moment.”
Superintendent Grassick said police will continue to investigate today and that no charges have been filed.
“We are still holding the scene at the moment for a forensic examination and that will take the best part of the day.”
