Police have arrested a man for drug and weapon offences at Mount Gambier on the weekend.
Just before 4am on Sunday 11 June, Limestone Coast Police attended a licensed premises in Mount Gambier and arrested a 41-year-old local man.
Police will allege he was in possession of knuckle dusters and a knife. A quantity of an illicit substance, believed to be 1,4 butanediol was also seized from the man.
The Mount Gambier man was charged with carrying an offensive weapon, possessing a prohibited weapon, trafficking a controlled drug in a prescribed area and breaching bail. He was refused bail and subsequently remanded in custody to reappear in the Mount Gambier magistrates Court on 20 June. CO2300022251 / CO2300022348
If consumed, the chemical 1,4 butanediol converts to GBH and is known to have serious side effects, including the risk of overdose.
