A man wanted over the fatal stabbing of another man at a home in Sydney in a possible love triangle has been arrested in Canberra.
Prince Fahnbulleh, 24, was arrested in Gungahlin Drive at Bruce and taken to the Canberra City Police Station, where an outstanding warrant was executed on Monday, NSW Police said.
Detectives from Nepean Police Area Command will travel to the ACT where they will apply for the man’s extradition.
Youhanna Angok was stabbed to death in the west Sydney suburb of St Clair last Friday afternoon.
Police said Mr Angok was found an unconscious and seriously injured man at the about 4.30pm following reports of an altercation at the property.
“Police conducted CPR until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics, and despite their efforts, the man died at the scene,” the statement read.
It’s alleged Mr Fahnbulleh fled the area on a dirt bike.
Officers then set out on a manhunt, appealing to the public to locate Mr Fahnbulleh, who they wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for murder.
The 24-year-old is known to frequent the Blacktown, Seven Hills, Doonside, Mt Druitt, and St Marys areas.
Two female occupants at the home at the time were not injured.
Police had been investigating whether the stabbing was motivated by a potential love triangle.
Neighbours had told The Daily Telegraph they had heard arguments at the home of young mum Janika Bevin between her and her former partner, Mr Fanhbulleh.
They claimed Mr Fanhbulleh would show up at her house and yell at her from the front yard or inside.
A Parroo Close resident said she heard a woman screaming in the minutes before the stabbing.
“Then I heard a deep male voice saying ‘you’re a traitor’,” The Daily Telegraph reported.
“The screaming only lasted a few minutes and then the sirens came.”
