A man has suffered serious head injuries after falling 10 metres onto concrete at a construction site.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the Smith Street work site in the western Sydney suburb of Summer Hill at about 4pm on Tuesday where a 75-year-old-man was reported to have fallen.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene for head injuries.
He was then rushed to Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred hospital in the city’s east and he is now in a critical condition.
A large number of police attended the scene and began interviewing construction workers.
Bystanders flocked to the front of neighbouring houses watching solemnly on.
A front-end loader could be seen on the large concreted over site which had high walled embankments surrounding it.
Police have notified Safework NSW about the incident.
