Drivers were hit with one-hour traffic delays on the M6 today after police closed a section of the major motorway. Officers closed both directions of the M6, within J2, due to concerns over a person’s welfare.
An air ambulance was also called to the scene. M6 southbound has since reopened but northbound remains closed at time of publication.
CCTV images showed heavy traffic beginning to build on the motorway at around 2pm. A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said earlier today: “Officers are currently responding to a concern for welfare incident on the M6 northbound close to J2.
