CFA investigators will return to an Ocean Grove property today after several people were evacuated from a fire.
Firefighters tackled a house fire in Geelong West on Friday morning.
Country Fire Authority officials will return to a Cerberus Drive property in Ocean Grove this morning to investigate the cause of the blaze, which started shortly after 5.30pm.
The fire required three CFA trucks and two appliances from the Fire Rescue Victoria to get under control.
A CFA spokeswoman said the house was fully involved on arrival and all occupants of the home were evacuated safely.
“The cause of the fire will be full investigated today (Sunday),” she said.
“CFA and FRV worked well together to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes.”
She said the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman told the Geelong Advertiser paramedics assessed a number of patients at the scene.
“No emergency medical care or transport was required,” he said.
Neighbours drawn by sirens and flashing lights could be seen watching on as smoke billowed out of a side window, with up to a dozen firefighters getting the blaze under control at about 6pm.
CFA issued an emergency alert just after 6pm with traffic told to avoid the area.
Access to Cerberus Drive as impacted for up to two hours.
Victoria Police also attended the scene but no involvement was required.
