Romantic comedies are a dime a dozen but surprisingly there is something quite special about this movie which is unashamedly oozing with sugar sweetness from beginning to end.
When a young woman’s boyfriend dies, she sends text messages to his mobile phone as a way of expressing her emotions and anguish. However the text messages are received by a complete stranger who is down on his luck with women and love.
Predictably the two will eventually meet but is love possible the second time around? Does the passage of time heal the pain and sorrow? More significantly is it possible to have feelings for somebody whom you’ve never met?
Songstress Celine Dion has entranced audiences worldwide with her music and should now delight audiences portraying herself in her motion picture debut, as the inadvertent go between who ultimately is responsible for solidifying this couple’s relationship.
Dion’s performance is natural. She brings her own story into the movie speaking about her marriage, husband and family. The soundtrack is a compilation of her major hits which blends in well and adds fuel to the emotional rollercoaster that should have audiences laughing and crying throughout.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan are charismatic in the pivotal roles as the young couple who ultimately come to the realisation that fate can bring two lonely hearts together.
Incurable romantics won’t be disappointed in this surprisingly enjoyable movie which isn’t merely pleasurable viewing but more importantly leaves audiences with the message that love has a plan for each and every one of us.
Love Again is best described as a chick flick that even the most insensitive and hardened of male moviegoers should relish.
