The 301 Endless Yard Sale is back this weekend, with bargains galore in a 100-mile stretch along U.S. 301 in Wilson, Johnston, Halifax, Nash and Harnett counties.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
“Wilson County Tourism Development Authority is excited to partner with our fellow local tourism authorities to support the Endless Yard Sale, which brings thousands of people to our community each year,” said Brandt Harrell, director of Wilson County Tourism Authority.
Although there are usually many more smaller yard sales set up along the route, the event website lists the following Wilson locations this year: The Rocky Mount/ Wilson Flea Market in Elm City; Truely Unique, the Wilson County Fairgrounds and Tobacco Creek Creations in Wilson; and Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church in Lucama.
Tonya Pridgen, Wilson County Fair manager, expects a packed house at the fairgrounds, where 60-70 vendor spots have been reserved. Folks will be shopping and can buy breakfast, lunch or snacks at food vendors who will also be on-site.
“I think it’s going to be really good,” she said.
The 301 Endless Yard Sale attracts more than 5,000 shoppers and more than 500 vendors every year to sell or buy, according to the Johnston County Visitors Bureau. People often stay overnight in the area to take advantage of the two full days of the sale and to cover the entire stretch that runs from Weldon to Dunn.
Locations for vendors across the five participating counties are posted on the www.301endlessyard.com website.
Founded in Selma and now hosted by a variety of towns located along US 301 in the counties of Johnston, Halifax, Wilson, Nash, and Harnett, the annual 301 Endless Yard Sale remains a very popular annual event. Along the 100-mile-plus stretch of highway, vendors and home yard sale locations offer deals on antiques, collectibles, DIY furniture, crafts, and more.
The 301 Endless Yard Sale began 12 years ago in Selma.
