CLARE HAVE named an unchanged side to face Waterford in Saturday’s Munster senior hurling championship.
Brian Lohan keeps faith with the same fifteen which overcame All-Ireland champions Limerick in the second round for their meeting with Davy Fitzgerald’s Waterford in Semple Stadium.
Eibhear Quilligan remains between the posts having regained the number one jersey from Eamonn Foudy. Rory Hayes gets the nod once again with Paul Flangan missing out, he is joined by Adam Hogan and Conor Cleary in the full-back line.
Having delivered a man of the match performance the last day out, John Conlon once again leads the defence from centre back where he is flanked by Diarmuid Ryan and David McInerney.
David Fitzgerald and Cathal Malone are to partner each other at midfield with the half-forward line comprised of Peter Duggan, Tony Kelly and Aidan McCarthy and a named full-forward trio of Ryan Taylor, Shane O’Donnell and Mark Rodgers.
Austin Gleeson is given his first championship start of 2023 for Waterford, a hamstring injury during the League has restricted his involvement thus far but he is named to line out at full-forward. A hand injury sees UL Fitzgibbon Cup winner Mikey Kiely miss out on the matchday squad.
Fitzgerald has made two other changes from the team which fell to a nine point defeat against Cork. Iarlaith Daly and Peter Hogan replace Tom Barron and Colin Dunford.
John Keenan referees the tie which commence at 6pm on Saturday evening.
